We became Goats On The Go® affiliates in 2018 to provide environmentally-friendly, effective brush and vegetation management. Goats naturally prefer browsing off of trees and bushes over grazing grass - plus it provides better We offer grazing services for projects large and small - see what the goats can do for you!
Goats prefer to eat many of the plant species we consider "weeds" or nuisances - for them it is excellent feed. They can access areas too steep for mowing or weedeating or where it is unwise to employ fire or herbicides. And they enjoy it much more than humans would!
The goats will eat "almost anything green" from about ground level to 5 or 6ft in height. Favorites include poison ivy, bush honeysuckle, sericea lespedeza, giant ragweed, multiflora rose, buckthorn, autumn olive, wild grapes, and more.
We can do projects as small as a backyard or as large as a farm! We use portable solar-powered electric fence to keep the goats in the project area, and can work in multiple terrain settings.
Eventually, yes, as it would following mowing, spraying, or burning. A single grazing pass will severely reduce the visual density of brush and forces plants to draw on reserves to regrow. Clients report noticeably less brush and weed density a year after initial grazing. Multiple passes will stress plants to the point they cannot recover, and will keep new plants from sprouting.
We currently cover the north and south Kansas City territories:
Clay, Platte, Ray, Clinton, Jackson, and Lafayette counties in MO; and Johnson county KS. Not all cities allow goats, and we do occasionally venture outside our territory boundaries - please contact us to learn more!
Prices vary by project, though with some basic information (rough size, location, and description) we can easily provide a ballpark range. We provide firm prices after a no-cost, no-obligation site visit.
